14th Annual Drive for Youth Golf Outing

Our 14^th annual Drive for Youth golf outing was held at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA on Monday, June 10th. Despite the rain, participants enjoyed lunch, a round of golf, refreshments, prizes for top performers and a dinner reception. 2013 Young Champions: Theodore Caputi & Raymond Pfundt

The Young Champion Award recognizes an individual’s contribution in support of the Family Service mission. This year, we are pleased to honor Theodore Caputi and Raymond Pfundt for their generous contributions to the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter, a program of Family Service.

Theodore Caputi
Theodore and his team of volunteers did a great service to the residents and staff at the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter by raising the funds for and installing three high-quality, weather-sealed picnic tables and tetherball equipment. The tables provide families with a place outside the dorms where they can enjoy private family time. The tetherball equipment provides children and parents with an opportunity to exercise and play together.

Raymond Pfundt
Raymond and his team of volunteers raised funds for and built a large, durable storage shed for bicycles, supplies and equipment at the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter. Prior to the completion of this project, dozens of bicycles were stored outdoors near the entrance of the Shelter. They posed a potential safety hazard and often needed to be repaired or replaced sooner than expected due to exposure to the elements. The new shed increased safety, improved aesthetics and reduced wear and tear on the bicycles.
