‘Visionary’ nonprofit leader dies, leaves legacy of service


Words such as visionary, tireless and leader were among those used to describe Audrey J. Tucker, the longtime chief executive of Family Service Association of Bucks County, who died Monday. She was 73.

Tucker, who shared a home with her husband, Tom, in Upper Makefield, joined the Middletown social services agency as a social worker in 1978 and became its CEO in 1987. For four decades, she embodied the organization’s mission of “We listen, care and help. Every day,” said the nonprofit, in a statement.
