Bucks County seems to be effectively handling its homeless problem. A recent count of the homeless population showed a decrease from January, 2017.
The numbers are acquired through a method called a “Point in Time” count, which is federally mandated and counts the number of homeless people found in a single night. The PIT found 397 people in emergency shelter, transitional housing or outdoors in Bucks County. This is a 22.3 percent decrease from the 2017 count of 511.
