TODAY, Inc. Awards $10,000 to Family Service to Help Fight Opioid Addiction

TODAY, Inc., a local provider of behavioral health services, recently granted $10,000 to Family Service Association of Bucks County, a non-profit organization that served more than 26,000 people last year.

For nearly 65 years, Family Service has been helping children and families improve their lives, doing whatever it takes to help them overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. The organization provides mental health treatment, recovery support, emergency shelter, parent education, suicide prevention services and more. The funds from TODAY, Inc. will go directly to Family Service’s Center of Excellence.

215 Mopar Donates Nonperishables to Family Service Food Pantry

215 Mopar, Philadelphia’s premier car club, recently made a large donation of nonperishable goods to Family Service Association of Bucks County, a non-profit organization that served more than 26,000 people last year.

215 Mopar has donated more than 7,500 pounds of food to Family Service to date. The nonperishables will be utilized by Family Service’s food pantry in Langhorne, which distributes food directly to clients and other Bucks County residents who need it.

Klothing the kids

After retiring from her 35-year tenure as a Pennsbury educator, Meg Kramer refused to sit home. She sought a way to not only keep busy, but have a positive impact on her community. The answer came in the form of the PASR — Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees — which encompasses 30,000 retired school employees from across the state, including everyone from teachers and administrators to cooks and janitors.

According to Kramer, a key focus of the organization since its creation 80 years ago has been small community service projects such as baking homemade goods for shut-ins and delivering blankets to seniors at local nursing homes. But in 2005, a new goal was established — to help more children in need. That year, the Bucks County chapter formed a committee dedicated solely to this mission, quickly laying the groundwork for what would become its biggest initiative to date — Klothes for Kids.
