Specialized Groups

Anger Management

Anger stems from many sources. This evidence-based, individualized therapy program for anger management includes group and individual therapy sessions designed to meet the varying needs of clients. Individuals seeking these services will be seen for an initial assessment which will aid in determining which level of programming is appropriate. Level 1 programming consists of the initial assessment followed by 4 two hour group sessions. Level 2 programming consists of the initial assessment followed by a combination of 12 two hour group sessions and 3 individual sessions.

Groups are held on Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. We accept Medicaid or self-pay for anger management sessions. The cost is $140 for the initial assessment. The Level 1 Program cost is $300 which must be paid in full at the first group session. The Level 2 Program cost is $960 which can be paid in 3 payments of $320.  Clients can be court ordered and referred through open access and/or internally.

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) is an evidence based program designed to decrease recidivism among those who struggle with criminal mindset and who have been “in and out of the system” for most of their lives. Most experience difficulties with substance abuse along with criminal behaviors. This program is step-based and takes anywhere from 4 months to a year to complete. MRT targets self-destructive behaviors that keep a person in the judicial system.

To participate, you must be 18 years and older, with Magellan Behavioral Health insurance or self-pay, and have struggled with being in the judicial system throughout your life. This could be through Probation, Parole, Children and Youth Social Services, or other programs requiring monitoring through the system. Groups are held Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Each participant will receive a complimentary workbook which contains all of the steps and activities that need to be done in order to successfully complete this program.

Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM) and Male Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (MTREM)

TREM is a 24 to 29 session group intervention for individuals who survived trauma and have substance use and/or mental health conditions. This model draws on cognitive–behavioral, skills training, and psychoeducational techniques to address recovery and healing from sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. TREM consists of three major parts. The first section, on empowerment, helps group members learn strategies for self-comfort and accurate self-monitoring as well as ways to establish safe physical and emotional boundaries. The second component focuses more directly on trauma experience and its consequences. In the third section, focus shifts explicitly to skills building. Sessions include emphases on communication style, decision-making, regulating overwhelming feelings, and establishing safer, more reciprocal relationships. This is a weekly 2-hour group that is gender specific.

To participate, you must be 18 years and older, with Magellan Behavioral Health insurance or self-pay, struggle with history of trauma, and have a substance use and/or mental health disorder.

1 in 10 adults in the United States struggle with depression.
