Outpatient Behavioral Health
Family Service provides a comprehensive outpatient behavioral health program that includes individual and family counseling for children, adolescents, adults and seniors. The agency is licensed by The State of Pennsylvania to provide both outpatient Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol treatment services.
Because we take a holistic approach to mental health treatment we also provide psychiatric and nursing services, medication education, group therapy, tobacco dependency services, and case management, all in a highly confidential manner. We work with your support systems– family, school, primary care physicians–to provide the best treatment for your personal needs.
We believe you should have a say in the decisions made about your care. We will work together to build on your strengths, helping you feel confident in your ability to manage your life.
Programs in our Outpatient Behavioral Health Program include:
Our services are provided in settings that are convenient for you. Counseling occurs in our offices, in several school districts throughout the county, and at the Homeless Shelter in Levittown.

Counseling & Psychiatry
Studies show that one out of every four Americans has a mental health disorder. They are members of our families. They are our friends, our co-workers, and our neighbors. While we may not be able to stop mental illness from coming into our lives, we can change how it affects us.
You or your loved one should seek help when:

- Conflicts are not resolved or become worse.
- You or someone you know expresses concern about your behavior.
Counseling and Psychiatry services can help you cope, manage or overcome such issues as:

Supportive Case-management Outreach Team (SCOT)
Supportive Case-management Outreach Team (SCOT) assists people with diagnosed mental health and/or substance abuse related disorders who need assistance to achieve their recovery goals.
SCOT helps people manage their illness so they can maintain a consistent level of psychiatric stability, reduce substance abuse, and achieve a higher level of functioning in their community.
The team has primary responsibility for crisis response and is available for emergencies (both by telephone and in person) after office hours.
To participate in SCOT, you must be insured by Medicaid.

Wellness & Tobacco Cessation
All too often, people with mental illnesses develop other health conditions, such as heart disease and diabetes, because their general health is affected by their illness and medications. Our nurses work with clients to determine ways to improve diet, reduce smoking, and include exercise in their lives in order to improve their physical well being.
Smoking rates of those with behavioral health disorders, such as psychiatric disorders and substance abuse disorders, are two to four times higher than that of the general population. Those with behavioral health problems tend to begin smoking earlier, smoke more, and extract more nicotine and tar from the cigarettes they smoke.
If you are receiving services in our Behavioral Health Program, our nursing staff and Certified Tobacco Specialists can work with you and your Primary Care Physician to manage your overall wellness.
To join this program, you must be insured by Medicaid.
