You Can Make A Difference – Volunteer!

Family Service offers great opportunities to keep employment skills sharp or learn new skills for retirees, semi-retires, new graduates, or those between jobs. Your volunteer hours can also fulfill high school and/or college graduation community service requirements. We can tailor each opportunity to fit your schedule and level of expertise!

Thrift Store Assistant: Person to assist customers, organize and merchandise stock, accept and process donations, operate cash register.  At least one day per week, four hours per day.

Administrative Assistant Front Desk: Answering the Agency phones. Assist Front Desk staff with related duties such as filing, copying, data entry, shredding, related administrative tasks. Assist in dispensing paperwork to clients for their signature. Running charts to the doctors’ mailboxes. Place phone calls to remind clients of their appointments.  One day per week, four hours per day.

Nursing Records Assistant: Assist with filing and faxing medical records.  Complete application forms for medical devices.  Assemble patients’ charts.   Mail patients’ medication lists to PCPs; mail insurance releases.  Organize nursing staff files.

Medical Records Assistant
Responsibilities include:
1.     Filing of charts
2.     Assist medical record’s staff to file documentation into charts.
3.     Assist with filing (plan) in the basement to manage closed expired charts
4.     Additional paper documentation as defined and needed

Historian: Sorting of brochures, clippings, reports, flyers etc.  Categorizing them and putting into binders.  Scanning of old news articles to create electronic documents.

All Jobs Require Criminal Clearance, adherence to FSA policies and procedures.
