Bucks County’s Family Center
The Kelly Family Center is one of Pennsylvania’s 45 state-funded Family Centers. It is designed to serve any interested family in Bucks County regardless of where they live or their income.
Pennsylvania Family Centers are built on the philosophy that the most effective way to insure the healthy growth and development of children is to support families and communities in which they live. Parents in the community use Family Center programming to share, support each other, learn about and benefit from their community's resources.
The goal of the Family Center is to provide a seamless, comprehensive, and easily accessed network of services for children and families by:
Promoting positive child development through effective parenting, early intervention and outreach activities
Encouraging economic self-sufficiency for families through adult education, training, and employment
Assuring healthy development and health care services for children
Supporting and preserving the family unit as the foundation for success for children
The Family Center is governed by a collaborative board comprised of parents, educators, and community service providers who assess local needs and develop strategies to address the needs of Bucks County’s families.
With funding from the Children and Youth Social Services Agency, during the school year, the Family Center coordinates Family Nights held twice a month at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School and also hosts the annual Family Fest each May as part of the Family to Family Initiative.
